SmartOpenHamburg

what is being researched?

Electric mobility, transport and logistics and the coordination of major events pose enormous challenges for political decision-makers, authorities, planning and crisis management teams and representatives of industry.

With the research project „SmartOpenHamburg – A multi-modal decision support system for the Hamburg metropolitan region“ HAW Hamburg, in cooperation with the University of Hamburg, wants to create a tool that supports organisational and logistical decision-making processes.

and multi-modal mobility in Hamburg. The modelling of individual, adaptive decisions of people is a main focus here. Within the framework of this project, a so-called „digital twin“ of the city (for sub-areas) will be developed, which can be easily extended to other issues.

The combination of OpenData and multi-agent modelling and simulation with millions of individuals offers a completely new way of evaluating the effects of planning and political decisions in advance. One of the aims of the SmartOpenHamburg project is to develop a predictive information and decision support system for individual
